Best Practices in Learning and Development

Best practice information.  Lively discussion.  Networking with your Learning and Development colleagues.  Reviewing your skill set against the latest ASTD competency model.  All of that awaits you at our March 13 program!   Come join the conversation!

ASTD's annual State of the Industry report provides valuable insight into the ways that learning has evolved in recent years. It also provides insight into best practices, including ASTD BEST Award winners and global Fortune 500 companies and how they differ from other organizations.  After a brief presentation of the report's highlights and an opportunity to hear from one the recent BEST Award winners (our own Summit Credit Union!), we will discuss the implications of the report's findings for your organization's Learning & Development plans.

We'll also take a look at the new ASTD Competency Model and give you an opportunity to discuss how that applies to your own role and professional development plans. The ASTD Competency Model, and the associated research, defines the competencies for the learning and development field. The model is being updated because the profession has changed significantly since the current version was introduced in 2004.
