Presentation Description

Successful organizations rely on continuous improvement to stay ahead of the curve. They also rely
heavily on employees and teams that can work well together. Key to both of these is the effective use
of feedback. Based on this understanding, training and development professionals have been delivering
workshops on feedback for decades as a part of their interpersonal skills inventory of offerings. While
these skill-building programs are important, they are often ineffective in providing real behavior change
in organizations. The problem? Culture! This interactive workshop will focus on strategies that you can
implement that will help to create an organizational culture that is more receptive to feedback, and
thus more effective at achieving desired results.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the background, context and basics regarding why organizations offer feedback skills workshops.
  • Understand why organizations (and trainers) spend too much time on the "giving feedback" skill and too little time on the more important "receiving feedback" skill and what to do about it.
  • Understand and diagnose the cultural barriers to effective feedback in your organization.
  • Develop strategies to overcome these barriers that you can begin to implement to create a better culture of feedback in your organization.
