Session Description:
What are marketing departments up to these days with the rise of digital and “content marketing”? What does this have to do with training and talent development? What is content marketing anyway, and why should you care about it? What can marketing do for your training and instructional design teams? What can you do for them? How can you leverage your marketing department to improve your own operations?
We’ll explore these questions and more in this informative and interactive session that will help talent development professionals think differently about their corporate marketing departments. Learn how to talk to marketing-- how to leverage marketing’s capabilities and build a collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship. Talent development is always looking for low and no cost solutions to training and development needs and believe it or not your marketing department can help! Come learn how to shop in your own back yard for “free” and low cost solutions!
In 2010 I began a collaboration with our marketing department on a project and realized the treasure trove of information and resources available. What began as a one-time collaboration has evolved into an ongoing partnership that has strengthened both departments and opened up new opportunities at MMI. I hope by sharing what I’ve experienced and learned I can help others dream up new possibilities in their own organizations!
