    Training Specialist

    Location: Madison, WI

    Reports to: Operations Manager

    Job Overview: As a Training Specialist, you will play an essential role in leading and growing talent internally. Training our current trainers and developing and documenting processes and procedures for technical equipment. This is a newly created position and will be a vital member of the Madison Operations team.

    Job Dimensions:
    Integral to supporting and growing existing and new talent throughout the plant.

    Must have flexibility to support a 24/7 workforce.

    Principal Accountabilities:
    Documentation/Capturing OEM training, assisting with knowledge transfer
    Critical to onboarding new equipment and new business while meeting timelines
    Lead training initiatives for Madison’s expansion project
    Develop and maintain a progressive skills program
    Maintain and improve cross-training program
    Create and maintain a skills development program for the shop floor leadership team
    Responsible for creation and maintenance of all training record accounts for all employees
    Development of SOP’s by partnering with senior Operators
    Devlier safety and introductory training for production new hires
    Provide production technical expertise and develop on-the-job (OJT) train the trainer program
    Deliver other training content as needed

    Major challenges & complexities:
    Working with Human Resources and leadership team to develop this newly created position
    Establishing a leadership presence without having direct reports
    Ability to investigate and analyze information
    Breaking down a technical idea/process for a non-technical person
    Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Knowledge & Experience:
    5 years of experience in a training role/capacity in a manufacturing environment
    Bachelors degree or Equivalent combination of education and experience

    Education & Certifications:
    2-4 years of experience in Training or similar role
    Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
    Hands on experience, documenting and facilitating a training manual

    Skills/Abilities/Behaviours:
    Independent, driven, eager to learn, and share information with other team members
    Detail-oriented and strong documentation skills
    Ability to help develop skillsets
    Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic environment
    Strong attention to detail
    Comfortable communication to all levels of internal and corporate management
    Self-starter
    Team Player
