    Starting salary will be between $46,737 and $77,126 depending upon experience and qualifications, plus an excellent benefits package. This position is in pay schedule and range 07-03. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

    This position involves statewide travel. A valid WI driver's license or the ability to provide one's own transportation for work purposes is required as a condition of employment.

    Position Summary:   

    The Training Officer-Senior position is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of SPD training activities, including comprehensive staff development and our annual SPD conference.  The SPD training programs and conferences provide continuing legal education and other training to SPD staff (i.e. attorneys, investigators, Client Services Specialists, support staff) in addition to professionals outside the agency.  This position also oversees the operational/logistical functions of the Office of Training and Development.  For those individuals who are detail oriented and organized, this position is for you.

    An extensive criminal background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.


    A minimally qualified applicant will have:  · Experience developing and conducting training in a variety of formats (lectures, group discussions, role playing, etc.) 
    · Experience providing technical support for a variety of training presentations(audio, video, e-learning, etc.) 

    A well qualified applicant will have:  · Experience providing logistical support for training activities (researching training event sites, costing of events, scheduling presenters, etc.) 
    · Experience and/or training with the legal field (legal terminology, defense or prosecution within criminal trials, etc.)
