UW - Madison Learning Development Specialist for Building Inclusion and Diversity

    The position is located in the Learning and Talent Development (LTD) team within the Office of Talent Management in the Office of Human Resources (OHR) at UW-Madison, and reports to the Learning and Talent Development Director. The LTD team strives to create a healthy, inclusive and engaging work environment by serving as the professional development resource for all UW-Madison employees to retain and develop a high-quality workforce prepared to address the challenges of the 21st century in an educational environment. 

    This position is responsible for creating and delivering professional development/educational workshops to University of Wisconsin-Madison employees with specific attention to diversity and inclusion. The incumbent in this position will also manage training projects as a result of consulting with individuals and units to help them build inclusive workplace practices. In addition, the position will:
    - Primary assignment is coordinating the Building Inclusion@UW project LTD and learning program area. 
    - Facilitate and coordinate collaborative design team structure to create, develop, and implement online workshops, courses and sustained learning communities focused on emerging individual and organizational needs, as well as creating and implementing new and emerging educational events as the need arises. 
    - Communicate regularly with internal and external groups, including the Engagement, Inclusivity and Diversity Coordinator. 
    - Additional assignments may be assigned based on university, division, and department needs.

This position is integral in supporting human resource programs that allow the university to attract, hire, and retain talent in all positions.

    Degree and Area of Specialization:

    At least 2 years of experience designing and delivering training & facilitating
    Strong working knowledge of diversity and inclusion as it relates to work place practices and environments

    Bachelor's degree in education, business/management/human resources (or related field), or equivalent experience

    Experience in higher education

    Minimum Number of Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

    - Knowledge of Curriculum Development Processes - Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum development processes. 
    - Project Management and Coordination Knowledge - Applies knowledge of and skills in group facilitation, managing logistics, and effective communication methods
    - Change Management and Organizational Development Leadership - Demonstrates leadership in change management, organizational development, training skills for non-trainers, customer service skills, and continuous planning and improvement tools
    - Learning Technology - Identifies, selects, adapts and applies a variety of learning technologies to meet the needs of learners
    - Engaged Learners - Delivers curriculum in a learner-centered, engaging manner to others, including adult learning needs
    - Program Evaluation - Evaluates impact of learning at both organizational and individual levels to inform decision making, including assessment and evaluation methods

    - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel
    - Must be eligible to work in the US (UW-Madison cannot sponsor this position)
    - Ability to periodically deliver classes to 2nd and 3rd shift employees (approximately 2-4 times per year)
    - Deliver and facilitate training for up to 4 hours per day
